Swedish mentality
People in Sweden are right now very upset with ”crewel” treatment of animals at zoos in China. Tourists can bye a living cow to feed the tigers. That is called “cruelty to animals”
The people “outcries” and the media make money on the “news”.
In Sweden people think that the beef they buy at the supermarket actually is a square pack and ignore the thought that the meat actually was a living cow that was killed. Death is something ugly, something that you don’t talk about, something that doesn’t exist in our high-bred mentality. When it comes to animals the Swede is very anxious about the “cuddlesome” animals. Very few like rats at home and the death is in that case not very fastidious. But eating dog as a culinary delicacy in China is in the Swedes mind something unforgivable. That people eat insects in some parts of world is disgusting but morally not in any way reprehensible. To kill a fly is totally OK.
Not very long ago there was a campaign, no animals should be alone. The birds should be at least 2 at the stick if the have to live in captivity, and so on.

My girlfriend had ones a hamster in a cage. I was feeling sorry for the hamster that frenetically tried to get out of the cage. I let it out. My dog Damn (black in Thai) saw the hamster and it took one nano-second before she bit it over the neck. Wounded and bleeding, about to die there was only one thing to do. Kill it. It went into a plastic bag and got a hammer in the skull. Dead!
The other day I felt sorry for my birds. I let them out but forgot to turn of the fan in the sealing. One of them flew right in. Smash! Almost dead but the bird stayed alive with some broken bones. It was so close.
A friend of mine slips in a stair, falls and hits her head, dead, another one slips from a clip at the coast, falls down and hits a rock in the sea, dead.
Death is something we all meet sooner or later.
But in Sweden the media is very happy for every sold newspaper. They have either written about a scandal, alternatively about sex or how used the Swedish people are by the government that takes from the poor and gives to the rich. That sells. But nothing makes such outcries as animals. Animas that are killed to be eaten, animals that kills animals or animals those are alone. But that loneliness among humans is one of the biggest problems in a welfare-society is something that the Swede shut eyes for.
In Sweden we know best, we think the best way and everybody else that don’t think like we are either wacko or barbaric.
In my opinion if the Swede have forgotten something it would be the empathy towards other humans. On behalf of career and self-absorption the Swede would do anything for the so called self-realization. Then the Swede goes out for the poor animals but forgets the humans in their nearness. How can you otherwise explain that a neighbor can be dead many years without anybody missing him?
